Description
The low-flowNasalOxy® Nasal/Oral Cannula is an innovation in oxygen delivery. Its advanced design offers greater comfort compared to face masks and traditional Nasal Cannulas.
Optimal solution for all patients who require a low-flow oxygen supply:
- COPD patients
- Pneumonia patients
- Asthma patients
- Cystic fibrosis
- Patients with respiratory insufficiency
NasalOxy® is a low-flow nasal/oral cannula for oxygen delivery during nasal and oral breathing. It was designed to support patients—especially when conventional oxygen nasal cannulas lose their effectiveness during oral breathing.
NasalOxy – Noticeably more comfortable breathing
- Supports balanced moisturization of the respiratory tract and helps reduce nasal dryness.
- Soft materials and optimized airflow reduce irritation of the nasal mucosa.
- Greater wearing comfort – less burning sensation with dry oxygen supply.
- Cleaner nasal passages due to less crusting with prolonged use.
- Better tolerability in long-term use and thus greater adherence to therapy.

NasalOxy® in Comparison
How the NasalOxy® nose/mouth mask compares to a traditional oxygen mask and an oxygen face mask.
| NasalOxy® Nasal/Oral Mask | Classic Oxygen Goggles | Oxygen Face Mask | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Respiratory Protection | Nose and mouth at the same time | Only nose | Nose and mouth (completely covered) |
| Effectiveness in Cases of Mouth Breathing | Remains reliably effective | Loses a significant amount of effectiveness | Effective, but less practical for everyday use |
| Comfort During Continuous Use | Soft materials, less irritation to the nasal mucosa | May cause irritation or dryness with prolonged use | May be perceived as restrictive |
| Eating, Talking, Sleeping | Fully possible | Usually possible without restrictions | Restricted (mask covers the mouth) |
| Discretion / Appearance | Lightweight and unobtrusive | Lightweight and unobtrusive | More noticeable; covers a large portion of the face |
| Recommended for | Mouth-breathers, patients with COPD, asthma, or pneumonia who require low-flow oxygen therapy | People who breathe exclusively through their noses and have a consistent need | Higher flow requirements or emergency situations |
This information is based on the characteristics of NasalOxy® as described on this product page. It is not a substitute for individual medical advice.
NasalOxy® is suitable for all patients who require low-flow oxygen therapy—particularly those with COPD, pneumonia, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory failure. It is intended for individuals weighing more than 30 kg and is intended exclusively for use by a single patient; it is not intended for use by multiple patients.
Traditional nasal oxygen masks lose much of their effectiveness when the user breathes through the mouth, since oxygen is delivered only through the nose. NasalOxy®, on the other hand, supports both nasal and oral breathing simultaneously and thus remains reliably effective even for mouth breathers. In addition, the softer, more comfortable material causes less irritation to the nasal mucosa and provides greater comfort during prolonged use than conventional nasal glasses or face masks.
That depends on the location:
- Zu Hause (ohne Patientenwechsel): Wechsel spätestens nach 30 Tagen.
- In klinischen Einrichtungen (ohne Patientenwechsel): Wechsel spätestens nach 72 Stunden.
Jede Packung enthält eine, sechs oder zwölf Nasen-/Mundbrillen mit 210 cm langem Schlauch, direkt anschlussfertig für die Sauerstoffzufuhr.
Yes. The lightweight, unobtrusive design was specifically developed to allow patients to eat, speak, and sleep comfortably without causing a drop in oxygen levels (PaO2).
No—on the contrary: NasalOxy® helps maintain balanced humidity in the airways and reduces nasal dryness. The soft materials and optimized airflow also minimize irritation of the nasal mucosa and the formation of crusts during prolonged use, which improves comfort during long-term use.
