New Reusable EEG Caps for Clinical and Research Use
CNSAC is expanding its product line to include reusable EEG caps for various applications
CNSAC MedShop GmbH is expanding its neurodiagnostics product line with a new product family reusable EEG caps. The various models were developed for clinical EEG diagnostics, long-term EEG, polysomnography (PSG), and demanding applications in neuroscientific research.
With a variety of channel counts, cap sizes, and electrode options, the product line offers solutions for adults, children, and newborns. The open electrode system allows direct access to individual electrodes during recording and facilitates efficient patient preparation.
Open Electrode System for Efficient EEG Recordings
A key feature of the CNSAC EEG caps is the open electrode design. Each electrode remains directly accessible during the examination. Electrodes with elevated impedance can be optimized by reapplying conductive EEG paste or adjusting the electrode position without removing the cap.
Individual electrodes can be replaced as needed. This extends the service life of the EEG cap and reduces maintenance requirements.
Reusable Electrodes for Various Applications
Depending on the model, the EEG caps come with reusable CNSAC Gold Cup electrodes or sintered Ag/AgCl electrodes .
Gold Cup electrodes are suitable for a wide range of clinical and scientific EEG applications. For applications with specific requirements for long-term stability and low polarization, EEG caps with sintered Ag/AgCl electrodes are also available.
EEG caps for adults, children, and newborns
The new product line includes various hood sizes for different patient groups. For adults, depending on the model, the sizes are S, M, L, and XL are available, depending on the model. Pediatric EEG caps are available in sizes N, I, and C .
For neonatal EEG applications, a reusable 8-channel EEG cap for newborns is also available, with sizes for particularly small head circumferences.

The range of applications thus extends from routine EEG and clinical neurophysiology to sleep diagnostics and long-term monitoring, and on to cognitive neuroscience and brain mapping.
Reusable PSG Hood for Sleep Diagnostics
The product line is complemented by a CNSAC Reusable 10-Channel PSG Cap for polysomnography and sleep medicine examinations.
The PSG cap features a specific electrode configuration for EEG, EOG, and reference leads, as well as GND. A replaceable, disposable chin strap supports hygienic workflows between patients.
Accessories and Adapter Cables
To connect the reusable EEG caps to compatible EEG recording systems, suitable CNSAC adapter cables are available for the various channel configurations.
In addition, disposable chin straps for reusable EEG and PSG caps in various package sizes.
