In sleep diagnostics which is also called polysomnography (PSG), nasal cannulas are mainly used to measure nasal/oral airflow and snoring. During a PSG examination, various physiological measurements are taken to record including the brain waveform (EEG), eye movements (EOG), muscle tension (EMG), respiration and cardiac activity. The nasal cannulas are used to measure respiratory flow as well as snoring during sleep examinations and sleep screening.
Because of the standard Luer-Lock connector, CNSAC nasal cannulas are compatible with all devices with a Luer-Lock connector side, such as:
- Löwenstein
- Embla
- Somnomedics
- Nihon Kohden
- Schwarzer and Xltek (Natus)
- Philips Respironics / Alice Systeme
- ResMed
