NasalOxy – New standard of comfort in long-term oxygen therapy

Long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) is a key component in the care of patients with advanced COPD and chronic respiratory insufficiency — often ≥16 hours per day in the home environment. This makes the interface used (nasal cannula vs. mask) a real "decisive factor" for comfort, adherence, and suitability for everyday use.

NasalOxy® was developed precisely for this care situation: a low-flow nasal/mouth cannula that creates an "oxygen cloud" in front of the nose and mouth, thus providing support especially for patients who breathe through their mouth (e.g., at night or during activity). With an open, non-intranasal design, 210 cm tube length, and clearly defined replacement intervals (72 hours in clinical use / up to 30 days in home care, single-patient use), NasalOxy® allows you to eat, talk, and sleep without having to change the interface.

The underlying naso-oral "Oxynasor" principle has been described in the clinical literature (Köhler et al. 1993, Chest 103: 1157–1160) and has been shown to provide oxygenation comparable to a mask at low flow rates — without an increase in CO₂ — while being preferred by patients. NasalOxy® translates this proven concept into a modern format designed for home care.
